Aki Ra is a former Khmer Rouge conscripted child soldier
who has now devoted his life to making Cambodia safe again
in addition to providing assistance to his country’s
numerous landmine survivors through humanitarian programs.
He is the curator and founder of the AKIRA MINE ACTION
GALLERY in Siem Reap Angkor, Cambodia, which houses
his eclectic collection of paintings, photographs, videos
and memorabilia, and the Cambodia Landmine Museum, a fully-licensed
Kingdom of Cambodia non-governmental organization.
Aki Ra and his wife Hourt have adopted many landmine survivor
kids who live at their home on the Siem Reap river near
Angkor Wat.
